The New AIIB: To Help Advance China's Political Interests Too?

"The hardest thing to explain is the glaringly evident which everybody has decided not to see" - Ayn Rand
"That's why we fight, in hopes of a day when we no longer need to" - President Obama
(Texts here are the texts in the draft photo-graphic)

(This is still a draft - the photo-graphic is to be edited)

We strongly oppose the idea of the Philippines joining institutions mainly bankrolled & controlled by China, until China develops a good number of strong independent institutions, likely decades (or a revolution) away. Yes we can indulge, as ever, in the generosity of Japan, the US & other major capable nations sure to increase their development, economic assistances & aids to the country. It's impossible to dis-entangle China's soft advancements of its political & military interests from AIIB, we think so.

The circumstances that led to the rise of rebellions by the Filipino-Muslims & the Communist NPA lent some credence & justification for their armed struggles. But the present realities, & what became of these groups, we think, compel their organized violent struggles be stopped & alternatives be actively sought, employed. //Even China's leader Xi prioritizes the fight versus corruption

You don't have to be Einstein to find out the underlying causes of our social problems that hold us back from realizing our full potential as a nation. You don't have to be Martin Luther King or Mandela to see some things are so very wrong & that perhaps you can do something. You don't have to be holy or be the Dalai Lama to be concerned. You don't wait for a life-changing experience, or for yourself to survive murder attempts - you only need a little conscience & a little concern, a little time - to act to do something that can make a little difference, that sometimes all that's needed to catalyze little positive reforms. We resist our cynicism & apathy

Nice Fact
Decades of severe corruption in the Philippines mainly bred & perpetuated (long-term poverty) petty & serious criminality - as big-time crooks sleep tight & safe, petty ones should not be murdered

Continuity of President Aquino's active pursuit of inclusive development & bold reforms is top concern among investors - endorsed one should be wary of local officials who use dirty money from big-time crooks & the rumored severely corrupt

How can the Philippines be independent (neutral) & free when already we're under the powerful grip of the very few?

US & US-based companies (like NYSE-listed ones) have to comply with laws in the US. //But many Chinese firms are free to flout legal & regulatory requirements in the Philippines. They have a hundred & one readily available channels, for example, to flood the country with their country's surplus goods & even consumer products with toxic chemicals. If cash-rich big crime groups can bribe their ways to penetrate the Phil market - imagine state-sponsored interests?

Many big political donors in the local biz communities desire the elimination of petty criminality. Yet their practice of bribing their ways to unfair privileges (& impunity) to undermine fair competition also sustain long-term poverty. Rice traders, & big buyers of unhusked rice, for ex, can act like a cartel in many areas. /Smugglers profit billions. Millions of poor families suffer

Advancing our causes & advocacies benefit even public officials & the super-rich - it all helps ease the social tensions that can silently build up & lead to ever more fractious society conducive to political instability, armed struggles, violent conflicts, outbreaks of serious & violent crimes

China's acts, behavior & declared intentions in the South China Sea should cause billions  more of funds to be allocated to our Defense - sad but an essential required shift

Also partly true in North Korea, China, parts of the Philippines

"President Obama was right to observe that...greatest threats come from within: 'populations that, in some cases, are alienated, youth that are underemployed, an ideology that is destructive and nihilistic, and in some cases, just a belief that there are no legitimate political outlets for grievances."

- Doug Bandow, in a Forbes online article

The majority of the people of China can't be assumed to be approving of their present government as to its decisions about claiming practically all of the South China Sea
